Could this really have happened? Kayla Monday, June 8, 2009

Question:

Dear Br. Ignatius Mary,

I've often heard a story told in which Archbishop Sheen met a woman on a plane who claimed she was a witch fasting for abortions.

In your opinion, is this something that could have actually happend? Do witches really fast for abortion?

Yours in Jesus and Mary,
Kayla

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM

Dear Kayla:

I think I remember this story from one of Bishop Sheen's talks.

Yes, it is possible, and even likely. The spiritual practices of prayer, fasting, and such are spiritual principles that the devil perverts for his own purposes. Thus, prayer becomes casting a curse or petitioning the devil, fasting becomes a form of sacrifice to move the devil to action.

I remember back in around 1975 a large convoy of black vans invaded Minnesota. They were hundreds of witches and occultist come to Minnesota to "pray" for the destruction of Christianity. Christian prayer groups organized all over the state to "counter-pray" asking God to stop any harm these witches sought and to pray for their souls.

The enemies of God will most certainly use any spiritual practice, perverted to the devil's purpose of course, to solicit the devil to effect evil upon God's children.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
