Question: Dear Bro.Michael, Thank you for your prompt and informative response. Thought it is good to clarify the circumstance of concern ; this is because of having read at a site ( run by a reputable priest -'Ask The Father' if i remember right )how priests can incur automatic excommunication, for example, for saying the words of consecration in a sacrilegious manner in a restuarant and that such excommuncation can only be lifted from Rome. Such info was surprising and hence wondered if there are parallel situations in marriages as well where persons have lost the grace of the sacrament (through some similar circumstance as in the case of the priest ) and not realise same and if so are they in need of something more than confession alone. I do hear your response of how if the marriage was valid, then repentance and confession can restore graces and may be trusting in His mercy for same is what is best . Thank you again.
