Question: Dear brother, I don’t know if it is the right forum for this question. Still I believe you can help me. I do very small scale mission works. My spirituality is catholic charismatic When I am in prayer or thinking about God (related to any particular matter) or in prayer meetings, or when attending mass I get a lot of Jerks. Some times very strong jerks. Initially I had doubts about it. But now I take it as a visible intervention or signal from God, making me confident. It helps me confidently operate some charismatic gifts or taking some instantaneous decisions in the process of operating the gifts. I contacted a retreat centre director he –a senior catholic priest- affirmed it as a touch of God. Many elders in community of the catholic charismatic group see it as Good. I contacted a theologian, a professor in a catholic seminary, also. They all are positive about it. But nobody could elaborate on it or they did not want to do it. Could you please give me your opinion on it?

Jerks like you are describing can be caused by a number of medical reasons. I have had jerks like this too but it was caused by my medical condition.
