Question:

Dear Brother Ignatius,

Praise God for all your assistance and prayers. I never doubted that God would help the woman whose co-worker (subordinate) and former friend had put a curse on her. However I was amazed at how fast it happened, less than 2 weeks for things really to turn around. We had only begun just 2 weeks ago.

I think what helped is that she was extremely repentant of having strayed from the Faith, and became very disciplined with the spiritual exercises and prayers I gave her. While the cancerous growth in her leg had already been removed a month ago, all the pain in her leg has disappeared since she began the deliverance process, as well as all the other pains in her uterus -- and the growths/cysts there have also vanished.

She admits that she still periodically feels dizzy but I told her to continue to stay focused on the deliverance prayers and other spiritual exercises, and to continue to attend Mass regularly.

As for the guy who did the curse, within a couple of days of starting her deliverance, the guy began to show great anxiety, and suffer tremendous amounts of pain in his body. He was popping all sorts of pills to overcome the pain. Why was this? Were his demons rebelling against him? Were our prayers for his conversion doing that somehow?

Last Fri. he got tranferred to another building where he will have no more contact with the woman he despises.

As for me, two days into the deliverance process, I began to feel extremely dizzy too but it lasted only a day. Also, a pain in my shoulder which I'd been having for a month intensified for that week, and right now I have a bit of a cold.

I'm not about to say it's demonic. I've been running myself ragged and only getting 6 hrs sleep a night. Having turned 35 on Nov.5, I need rest.

IF these symptoms WERE demonic, could they be a result of the physical toll a deliverance can take on the flesh, or "mosquito" demons just trying to distract me?

God bless,
TIM

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM

Dear Tim:

All that you describe is consistent with how things can happen. Sometimes the transformation can be literally overnight. The ramifications of deliverance that you describe are also consistent with what can typically happen, including what happened to the person casting the curse. Those who cast spells and curses are normally harmed themselves. The devil hurts his own.

Doing deliverance should not take a physical toll on the deliverance minister. It is does then perhaps the minister is trying to deliver under his own power rather than God's. I have never been spent physically from a deliverance. Just the opposite. Since I am disabled and in continual pain I can be like death warmed over and not feeling like getting out of bed. But, once I begin a deliverance I mysteriously get energized and am able to have a stamina that is frankly not possible with my medical condition.

The symptoms you describe are typical demonic harassments to try to distract you from helping this person and/or revenge for doing so.

The physcial toll is most likely due to your not getting enough rest. By the way, when we are fatigued and tired we are more vulnerable to the devil's attacks, so be careful about helping people when too tired.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
