Occultist in the guise of a christian? francis Tuesday, November 11, 2008

Question:

I had a friend, who appeared very much a christian charismatic.Once he came and took my newly born child in his hand and prayed. Later on I came to understand him as occultist ( no doubt, I am very much convinced). I believe, some sort of devilish prayer, he might have prayed- casting a spell etc- on my child. After this incidence, my child was baptized. I am of the belief that whatever be the evil influence the occultist might have transferred to my child is nullified by the baptism. [ I am a Malankara catholic, following Anthiyokian rite, a full pledged deliverance prayer is prayed on the child at the time of baptism). Is my belief ok?

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM

Dear Francis:

Yes, your child's baptism probably nullified any curse or spell placed upon him by this person. While is may be theoretically possible for later problems to occur from this, it is unlikely. You may, if you wish, as the child's father also pray the Prayer to Break Spells and Curses that is in our SW. Prayer Catalog linked below, but I really do not think you have anything to worry about.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
