Question:

Over the past eight years I have lost my marriage, lost my career of twenty five years, my father died, my only sibling died (sister) a year later, all of my friends (twenty plus years) abandoned me and I have been living on the brink of financial ruin.

I have had my gas shut off for months at a time because I could not pay the bills. My oldest child was diagnosed with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and was almost expelled from school. My youngest child was expelled from the Catholic School Board last year and ran away from my home to live with her mother. I have not seen her face to face for 8 months. These are a few of the trials I have had to endure.

These have also been the most incredible years of my life. God brought me to my knees eight years ago and hasn’t let me get up. I have spent countless hours in prayer and have received more blessings from His wonderful hands than I can list, but here are a few.

Peace in the midst of the storms. His wonderful and enduring Presence, in which I spend most of my time. A love for prayer. Learning to trust Him. Understanding humility. Love.

Things that I have learned:

+Keep your eyes on Jesus and not the storm.
+God hears your prayers.
+God has His own timing in answering your prayers.
+Pray, pray, pray. Then pray some more.
+Learn everything you can through the enormous deposit of faith in the Catholic Church.
+Love the Sacraments. They are given to us by God Himself.

God bless you and your ministry.
John
