Question: Hi I have been suffering from anxiety for months on end now. I have come to God because of it but now it just seems to be getting worse. Could I be under attack and this is why this is happening to me?? I have been told by three differnet people that I am to be a leader and my friends father told me that he sees a mantle on me and god is going to use me to help spread the word to people of my age, could I be under attack because of this??
Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM+ Alesha: Anxiety can be caused, or made worse, by demonic harassment. Demonic harassment can take place when we are about to do something for God. We need, however, to not get the cart before the horse. We should not presume this anxiety is a demonic issue. Have you been to a doctor to discuss this anxiety? If your anxiety is caused by chemical issues in the brain then the solution is medication. I would advise that you see a doctor to explore that possibilty. If this does not prove to be the problem, then other sources of the problem can be psychologocal or spiritual. In the psychological aspect, good Christian Counselor who is not just a counselor who is Christian, but a Christian who conducts Christian-centered Counseling based upon Biblical and Christian principles-- who counsels from a Chrisitan worldview -- would be a good thing to check out. In the spiritual aspect, talking to a competent Deliverance Counselor might be warranted. It is also possible that the anxiety as all three aspects going on: medical, psychological, and spiritual.
