Question:

Is it acceptable to undergo '5 Element Acupuncuture?" This supposedly treats a person's body, mind, heart and spirit.

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM

Dear Meg:

Acupuncture does not do that. It can be good for pain control but not for much else.

Acupuncture is based on a false cosmology. It believes there are energy flows in the body through what are called meridians. Blocks in the energy flow brings physical or mental disease. The Acupuncture is suppose to unblock this energy flow. When it is unblocked the person gets well.

This is hogwash.

There is no evidence of meridians and energy flows through them. It does not exist.

What treats a person's body, mind, heart, and spirit is Christ and that which he ordains (like provable medical techniques based on facts, not fantasy and false cosmologies).

Thus, the answer to your question is, No. It is not acceptable for a Christian to undergo this sort of therapy.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
