Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM
Dear Mariana: Sorry for the delay in responding. Well, I disagree with your priest about the severity of what you did -- he could be right, or he could be wrong. Saying what your said could potentially have major ramifications, or it may have little ramifications. Thus, one does not want to take the chance and be saying things like that, even in jest, or as you did, in anger. I would pray a prayer to renounce what you said and I would also bring this up in confession. That should take care of any residual ramifications, if any, that might arise from your actions. Go to confession, and then after you do your penance, say this prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, strengthened by the intercession of the Immaculate Virgin Mary, Mother of God, Blessed Michael the Archangel, of the Blessed Apostles Peter and Paul, Sts. Benedict and Padre Pio, my Guardian Angel, and all the Saints and Angels in Heaven, and powerful in the holy authority of His Name, I cancel all ground that evil spirits have gained through my willful and careless response to my son said in anger about having the devil in me. I reclaim the ground that the Enemy may have taken in my life due to that mistake and give it to Christ my Savior. AmenGod Bless,
