Paranormal Investigators- Evil? Anna Tuesday, April 1, 2008

Question:

I have some friends who have been looking into understanding more about the paranormal and what it is all about. They do not want to be 'ghost hunters' like on the TV shows. They just want to understand it better so they can protect themselves from it.
Do you have any advise for them?

Are all ghosts/spirits that we see Demons or evil in nature? Can some of them be a soul of a relative?

Some of my friends are Catholic Religion while others are Christian. They consider themselves to be believers of faith and do not want to do anything wrong. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Bless you.

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM

Dear Anna:

My primary advice is that "curiosity killed the cat." But if they insist on wanting to learn about such things they need to be VERY careful what they read. I would suggest choosing books from our Recommended Book List. If they stick to this list, and if they not indulge too much curiosity, they should be okay.

As for the nature of Ghosts, see my essay, Seven Kinds of Ghosts.

By the way, Catholics are Christians. In fact, we were the first Christians. The Catholic Church was founded by Jesus Christ. The apostles and all Christians for first 1000 years were Catholic.

God bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
