Question: Hello Brother, Are you familiar with the Bell Witch case that took place in the mid-late 1800's? If so, what are your thoughts on it? Thanks and God Bless.
Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM Hi Omar: It has been a while. Although I am not sure, I think the Bells of the Bell Witch case are my cousins. My paternal Grandmother's first name was "Bell", named after the Bell ancesters. My paternal family came from the Tennesee area. In the Geneology of John Bell that is published on one of the websites on the Legend some of the Bells ended up in Missouri. This would be consistent as my family also came up from Missouri and my particular branch settled in Ottumwa, Iowa only about 30 miles of from Missouri border. At any rate I do not know much about the legend. The evidence shows that there was not actual witch. The Legend has grown so much that we may never know the truth completely.
