Question: Thanks regarding your advice on the Charismatic church. I have a few other questions relating to my previous involvement with occult practices and witchcraft. Before I experienced this what I call a 2 year attack, I was very happy and successful. I had just recieved my degree in respiratory therapy and was working in a local hospital. I loved my job and didn't have a worry in the world. I am also ashamed to admit that I was also becoming more deeply involved in the occult especially witchcraft. I even (and am very ashamed to mention this) became interested in the works of Aleister Crowley. I started to research things such as ceremonial magick, paganism, you name it. I was introduced to witchcraft at the end of 2002 by a coworker who was very involved in it. Things that at one time that seemed scary to even contemplate began to seem normal. I guess at that time the enemy had me right where he wanted me. Like I mentioned previously, I began to experience a presence in my home and and strange things began to happen. At first they seemed harmless but became more frequent over time. I mentioned in my last post that I was sexually assaulted in 2004. Looking back now I see that event was not an isolated thing but the beginning of a whole pattern of attacks that continued for 2 years straight. I literally came as close as a person could to losing my mind. I even contemplated suicide. I had to be hospitalized twice. The end of 2005 was the worst. I could not sleep and when I did I had horrible nightmares. I began to see demonic manifestations and apparitions usually between the hours of 2am to 4am. Of course it would take me well over an hour to describe all the details. My question is can demonic attacks follow you and also occur outside of a persons house? This appears to be what happened also. Still occasionally experience seeing shadows especially in my peripheral vision. For the most part they are gone but occasionally make an appearance. Any advice?
Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM Dear Stacey: Demonic attachments can be to a place or a person. The demonic attacks you were experiencing appear to be attached to you. Thus, where you go, they go. If a person moves into a house that is demonically infested often times the demons will stay with the house when the people move out. Othertimes, the demons who were originally attached to the house will attach themselves to the people who moved in. In that case, when the people move in, the demons follow. The time frame, around 3am and the seeing of shadow darting around the peripheral vision are common. You need to dedicate yourself to the Lord Jesus Christ, be involved and regularly attend your Church, pray daily, do good works and generally live the best Christian life you know how to live. That will go a long ways in keep demons at bay. In addition to this use of specific spiritual warfare prayers such as those in our Catalog linked below; prayers such as the Hedge Prayer of Protection and, if needed, the Rebuking of Particular Spirits. Also the Reclaiming Ground prayer is recommended since the devil has stolen some ground from you because of your activities. If more difficult cases deliverance counseling with a qualified and experienced deliverance counselor may be needed. If most of the phenomena has gone, you may only need to keep up your Christian life and prayer life and that will be sufficient.
