Question: Hello, When I met her one night I found her quite scary. When I got home I turned on my PC and it froze. TV went off and on even though the power in general was ok; the lights didn't blink. I went to bed without really paying attention to all those things. Then, somewhere between sleep and being awake I saw her standing in four corners of my room. I couldn't move. I was literally petrified. When I was able to move I recited the Psalm 110/9 and the apparition vanished, I regained my peace. The next day I started praying deprecatory prayers for me and for him. Now she runs away from me. Is it possible for her to know that I am praying, is it possible that she has harmed me in a way. He is still with her! Is it possible that her mumbo-jumbo is more powerful than my prayers? Although we may never be together I want him be set free. I gave him (we are just friends) a blessed object as a present. Could it help since he is not religious in a way we are? I go on with my prayers-could they open his eyes? I know he loves me in a way because he says so. He tells that to the others, not me. Could a magick be stronger? What am I to do. He, of course, doesn't go to church and I am not able to make him do so. Please, help!!! What am I to do? |

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM
Dear Constance: You need to continue to pray for him and for this woman. Both this man and this woman will make up their own minds as God will not force them, but your prayers for them does have effect. As we pray for others spiritual influence is brought to them by God. This does not guarantee, however, that these people will repent and convert to God as God respects everyone's free will, but it does give a better chance that they may someday come to their senses. We need to persevere in prayer as St. Monica did for his reprobate son. She prayed for years and persevered in continual prayer. Finally, a few months before her death if I remember correctly, her son repented and came back to the Church. Her son was St. Augustine who later became a bishop and one of the doctors of the Church and one of the greatest Saints in the history of the Church. St. Monica's prayers had an effect, but the final decision was always Augustine's. So persevere in continual prayer for this man, and also for this woman. As for this woman running away from you after you prayed, it is certainly possible that she knew of your prayers. If she is demonized the demons could inform her of what you are doing. In fact, I had a deliverance case years ago where that happened -- the demons informed my client of what I was doing when there was no other way for my client to have known. As for the apparition itself, that was probably demons disguised as her, but I suppose it is possible for her to have diabolically bi-located. In any event, the episode was certainly not of God. The weird things that happened to you such as the TV going on and off is an additional clue that you were under a demonic attack. All of that coupled with your own sense of her being "scary" are clues that she was most likely demonized and you may have represented a threat to her (maybe due to your friendship with his man). While this woman may have be trying to harm you, it sounds more like she was just trying to scare you and it backfired on her. Your response to pray deprecatory prayers probably put her in her place and scared "her". Good going! The devil and all the mumbo-jumbo magick that she can muster is NOT more powerful than your prayers to God. God is infinitely more powerful than the devil and his minions. You have the protection of our Blessed Mother, St. Michael the Archangel, and your Guardian Angel. Be not afraid. Your response to all this is correct and laudable. Keep up the good work. Giving this man a blessed object can be helpful in that a blessed object has the "essence" of God upon it. Perhaps it will help to protect him against this woman and help him to come to his senses about God. Having the essence of God around you certainly cannot hurt. So, keep up your prayers. Hopefully, the spiritual pressure will build up sufficiently that he will come to a conversion in Christ. But, remember, the choice is always his. God Bless,
