Question: Hi! I have a rather strange question but anytime I read something I can't explain, I look for Catholic theology to explain it for me. I have a question about the true story below: There was an actor who was a Native American Shaman. He passed away of cancer and was buried in an Indian Reservation. When a co-star of his came to visit his grave, it was at the height of cicada season. Cicadas are like crickets and they were buzzing like crazy. When the co-star got to the grave and said, "hi, it's me" to the deceased, the cicadas stopped buzzing. Now, do you think it more likely that the cidadas (crickets) just happened to stop buzzing and it was a natural occurance? And , if not, what would have caused that? Something preter or supernatural? Thanks so much!! |

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM
Dear Bob: The cicadas probably stopped buzzing due to the sound of the voice of the person, or for some other natural reason. There is no reason to think this was anything other than a natural event.
