Question:

i am struck on your website how you prohibit people from using imprectory commands with the demon, as well as removing them. i have been in a spiritual battle for around a year. at the moment, i'm trying to go through a solemn exorcism ritual every single day (usually it ends up being around 10 a week). i use the roman rite of exoricism that I removed some of the parts from (I dont feel comfortable asking the demon for its name - or anything - and I realize I don't have the authority of the church).

i realize this is against canon law for catholics. it does seem to work extremely well each time. i also do other things during the ritual that seem sort of unorthodox - i ask jesus to change holy water into his blood and cover a cruficix with the already blessed water, with faith His blood is actually covering me. this all seems to work extremely well, much better than the deliverence prayers that i used to do that would generally elicit virtually no reaction.

i've prayed about this with God and sometimes instead of blessing the water I say something like "your will not mine", and it doenst feel like I'm commiting a huge blasphemy, it feels like Jesus is actually changing the water into His blood.

Side question: is it wrong to judge the effectiveness of a prayer by the reaction of the demon? I'm aware the demon can manipulate my voice and make me shake, but when I invoke Jesus' name and get a reaction, it seems like it is showing itself to be the weaker of the powers, and while I understand the demon is a whole lot smarter and more manipulative than me, it's hard to see why he would do this and I tend to assume he is doing it because Jesus is actually hurting him. Is this a dangerous assumtion?

Anyways, I've been struggling with this for about a year, I have called countless priests and met with countless people, prayed for deliverence with several people and I was struck by the fact 1) nobody seems to believe me or believe in demonization in general 2) of the people that do, nobody seems to know what they are doing or know anyone who does. I would much much rather go and recieve help from someone but I have literally no idea where (else) to turn. Do you ever give out contacts to people?

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM

Dear Jay:

It is really not possible for your to diagnose yourself. You need to be evaluated by a qualified deliverance counselor (and maybe by a psychiatrist also).

But, presuming you are indeed demonized, there is only so much you can do in terms of self-deliverance. The bondage you are under may be too strong for you to handle by yourself and thus seeking a qualified deliverance counselor would be warranted.

Although you might be using the Rite of Exorcism of the Catholic Church, this would NOT be a solemn exorcism. Rather you are using those prayers in a personal manner.

I am happy to hear that you are not talking to the demons. That is particularly dangerous and should not be done.

What you are doing on your own beyond the ritual prayers, however, is imprudent at best and dangerous at worse. You need guidance and help
