Does God sometimes use demons to make statements? Charles Tuesday, June 26, 2007

Question:

I've had a problem for several years after using a Ouija board, I hear demons and have been severly attacked by them on and off. I've gone through several deliverance sessions with various people after I was confirmed and I try to attend Church daily and I pray the Rosary and other prayers daily.

About a year ago one demon began sounding afraid and begged that I not pray some prayers anymore. I ignored him. He also began proclaiming Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior. He began telling me that my family was cursed saying that various Freemasons from both sides of my family caused these curses then he'd say "Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior. Jesus Christ is God and Man" He'd also say that "Jesus beat satan" and that "satan is a loser.

I told this to a Baptist Deliverance minister that I had an appointment with and he said that the way to tell whether what they say is true is that they would say scripture from St. John, "Jesus Christ is Lord. Jesus Christ came down in the flesh. Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Jesus Christ is the Son of Man." After he told me this the thing began saying this when he made these statements about ancestrial curses. He also would make comments and say in Jesus' name.

I went for deliverance and things seemed to be removed, yet I felt no better and have been under attack since then and I still hear them. They do seem different but I don't really know. The Bpatist told me to have Faith and that they are gone and that they often hang around and will try to convince me they are remaining.

The thing is saying "Jesus Chrsit is Lord He came down in the flesh. etc." which the Baptist minister said cannot be said by demons unless God were making them say it. Is this likely true?

It tells me that God has a plan for my life and that I should trust in Christ and pray and have faith in the Lord. It claims that I will do something special for God and then repeats that phrase. I'm very skeptical.

What is likely the truth? Should I believe it?

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM

Dear Charles:

You have gotten yourself into a pickle by playing around with a Ouija Board. Those things are dangerous, as you have discovered.

God loves you. There is freedom available from this affliction. You must ignore what demons tell you and NEVER speak to them no matter what they say. Continue your prayers. Be the best Catholic you can be: attend Mass each week and receive our Lord in the Eucharist if you are properly disposed, go to Confession as often as you need to remain properly disposed in a State of Grace, say your prayers, develop devotions, spend time before the Blessed Sacrament, do all the things that good Catholic should do.

I would recommend that you follow our Seven Steps to Self-Deliverance and also avail yourself of applicable prayers found in our Spiritual Warfare Prayer Catalog, especially the prayers of Rebuking Particular Spirits, and the Hedge Prayer of Protection.

If none of this helps over time, then you may need to contact us for a Personal Consultation.

Now as for the Baptist telling you that any spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ comes in the flesh is a spirit of God, the Baptist is misinterpreting the passage.

To begin with, the "spirit" that St. Paul is talking about is not "spiritual beings", but human beings, true and false prophets. A true prophet will confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh. A false prophet, and St. Paul was actually thinking of the Gnostics, who did not confess that Jesus came in the flesh, is not of God.

The operative word here is "confess." Confess means to profess something one believes and has faith in. Even Hitler can "say the words" that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh. But that does not mean that he is confessing that truth, that is, it does not mean that he is professing his faith in that truth of Christ.

We must remember that these words are not magical. Anyone can say the words, but not everyone can confess (that is, profess a true faith) in those words.

St. Paul was specifically saying that if these Gnostics or people like them come around preaching that Jesus was only divine and not human, then they are false prophets. A true prophet would not say such a thing, but would preach that Jesus is both God and Man.

But this passage does not preclude a con man from lying and saying that Jesus came in the flesh just to fool you.

We have Television preachers today, for example, who say that Jesus came in the Flesh, but are nevertheless false prophets and evil doers only after your money.

Demons lie. That is what they do best. If a demon can confuse you or get you to think it is not a demon by saying the words, "Jesus came in the flesh" it will certainly do so. Anybody can say the words.

And besides, for us the fact that Jesus came in the flesh is a matter of faith. For demons this is a matter of known fact as we know from the Bible that they know precisely who Jesus is as the Incarnate Christ.

You need to stop listening to these demons. Distract your mind to other thoughts, but certainly do not listen to them as if they have something to say. Their agenda is to lie to you, manipulate you, and prevent you from experiencing the victory of Christ.

Follow the suggestions I have mentioned. If, after some time, the problems are still not resolved, feel free to contact us.

God bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
