Question: Never had any real religeous training when I was young, dad got killed in nam mom was a free thinker. I was always fasinated by the Catholic Church though. Actually it was more of a fasination with the Rosary loved them the way they looked the way they felt and especialy the Hail Mary prayer. In High school I was a self styled satanist you know Heavy Metal music black clothing the whole chimichanga. When I graduated I considerd my self a free thinker not attached to any particular faith or philosophy. Followed in the foot steps of dad joined the Army a Paratrooper, Ranger amoung other things. That was in 1989. well in 2000 I and a few friends were into computer chat rooms we got a kick out of going into chat rooms on AOL that were associated with pedophiles pretend to be young girls chat them up establish trust set up a meeting and scare the crap out of them. My favorite pesona was the Catholic school girl so I began to study the faith read The Catechisem both the new one and the old Roman Catechisem. One day I found God or thought I had, joined the RCIA and became Catholic a year later, eventually teaching RCIA my self. Later i was diagnosed with PTSD and Bipolar disorder and was found unfit for service so now I draw disability and raise my kids while the wife works. I no longer practice my faith Ive even tried to formally get excommunicated by requesting it from my Bishop, because I dont want to be counted as a member of a faith I no longer hold. Any way I know there are means to force such a decree of excamunication but I realy dont want to offend others so Ill just wait for God to do it when I die which will most likely be by my own hand sometime in the future likely when my kids are grown and no longer need me. I do not fear hell, its pains and sufferings. Or maby the Hindus are right and Ill come back as a slug or a giraff. Maby the Wiccans are right and Ill come back as another man or as a woman till my soul has learned all it needs to know to assend what ever that means. Call me immature, selfish, or even ignorant foolish for tempting God but still I dont fear Hell.

I will certainly pray that you will be healed of these wounds to your soul and that you somehow come to know God's love for you. As for being excommunicated, since you were baptized and confirmed you will always be a Catholic, even if excommunicated, even in hell. The mark of baptism is permanent. If you go to hell you will still have the mark of baptism on your soul. If you are renouncing the Christian faith entirely, then you would be what is called an apostate. Apostates are excommunicated automatically. The Church does not have to convene a trial or anything; it is automatic. Heresy also incurs an automatic excommunication. I will pray that you will be enlightened by the Holy Spirit and come back to God. But, as I told Demensira, it is your choice and you will suffer the consequences of your choice. As for being excommunicated, since you were baptized and confirmed you will always be a Catholic, even if excommunicated, even in hell.
