Question:

Why did I start shaking when praying? Specially my right hand.

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OMSM(r), LTh, DD

Dear Sabastine:

I apologize for the LONG delay in answering your question. I glitch in our system caused me to not see your question until now. (4.6.19)

Without a LOT more information, there is no way to answer your question. There are a host of medical and psychological reasons for the shaking you experienced.

For the moment, let us presume the reason is demonological. The reason a demon would do this to you is to try to scare you into not praying.

To resolve this, you need to get right with God and His Church. The first and most powerful spiritual warfare prayers are the Sacrament of Confession and the Sacrament of the Most Holy Eucharist. To receive the Most Holy Eucharist in a State of Grace, you will need to go to Confession and honestly and genuinely confess your sins, with a desire and purpose to try to not commit them again.

Then you need to live as a good and devout Catholic (e.g., going to Sunday Mass and to Holy Days of Obligation, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, daily prayers and devotions, reading the bible a little bit each day, living a good and moral life as best as you can, which means no sex unless you are married and then only with your spouse, no artificial contraception or artificial means for the wife to get pregnant (in vitro, surrogacy, etc.), and a life of honesty and integrity).

God knows this is a tall order given man's proclivity to sin. God loves us so much, that in realizes man sins, He gave us the Sacrament of Confession to restore us to Him and to His Church. (1 John 1:9)

To help you to realize these things, I recommend the Seven Steps to Self-Deliverance, linked below. If you need more help, you can ask for a Personal Consultation or submit a Help Request. The links for both those options are below.

God Bless,
