Question Answered by

Dear Mary:

Sorry for the delay. My father died and I am just now getting back to things.

You are not alone. This is a problem for many people. It is a hard addiction to get over, but it can be healed. God is with you.

We do have a support group for people with sex additions and compulsions, but you would have to have a parent's permission to join.

There are, however, many resources we have open to the public. The primary resource is our 20 Steps to a Pure Heart and Mind. If you follow that diligently, and persevere, you can find healing. A good Catholic counselor may help too. Catholic Charities has counseling services.

You can also access our other public resources.

There is healing down the road. It will take a lot of hard work and perseverance. Be sure to go to confession each time you fall. Confession and the Eucharist are the two most power spiritual warfare weapons we have. The Sacraments are also the most powerful healing methods we have.

Stay away from the occasion of sin, whatever that may be for you. Follow the 20 Steps. Keep trying and go to confession when you fall, even if that is every week.

Rebuke those thoughts. "I rebuke these lustful thoughts and the spirit of lust. Father in heaven case this spirit from me never to return and give me a spirit of purity and thoughts that are pleasing to you."

Take a look at our Spiritual Warfare Prayer Catalog. Use any prayers that are useful to you. I especially recommend:

Hedge Prayer for Protection of Self

Prayer To Control Thoughts

Prayer to Break Addiction

Rebuking Particular Spirits

Our Spiritual Warfare prayer team will be praying for you.

Remember, check out the 20 Steps.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
