Question: Hi Brother, My wife and I just took a weekend trip to Salem, Massachusetts, and we were both shocked that so many were put to death based solely on the accusations of a few teenage girls. This whole episode in history is so shameful and macabre-it makes one think that it would be impossible for something like this to happen in real life, but it shockingly did happen! Do you think the devil was instrumental in unfolding and shaping the events that took place in Salem in 1692? Thanks. Eric

This is seen in riots where people who never thought they would ever participate get involved in the riot. There is also the phenomena of mass hysteria. Thus, the girls involved in starting the hysterial in Salem may have been acting out of mischief and revenge. Once they see the power they had, it got out of hand. Today, teen girls realize the power they have to cry sexual harassment or rape about a teacher they do not like. Thus, I think the Salam event was mostly malicious gossip followed by a sense of power byh the girls, followed by mass hysteria. This is all within the natural realm. With that said, it is certainly consistent with the motivation of the devil to egg this on. I imagine the devil did have something to so with it.
