Demonic activity in a Christian woman | Michael | Friday, September 29, 2017 |
Question: Is it possible for a professing Christian woman to be possessed or under the influence of demons to the extent that her mere presence causes great feelings of unease and distress in others? She is elderly, highly educated, and extremely self-centered but does not seem to exhibit behaviors most would call "satanic." Still, when I see her/talk with her I have a deep sense of forboding and evil. She often asks for favors, e.g., rides, help with her home, etc., and we feel compelled to do as she says. If we cannot, often a run of "bad luck" follows, anything from trivial to life-threatening. If it were just me, I would assume I have a problem. But most people she knows have expressed similar feelings. Is there anything I can do to help her or protect my own family? |

Dear Michael: The short answer is "yes." A Christian can be oppressed, obsessed, or even possessed. A note, however, is that because one "professes" to be Christian does not mean they are Christian. Jesus confronted people like this in Matthew 7:21-23~
Those who are evil, or surround themselves with evil, and those who my be oppressed, obsessed, or possessed may be noticed by others with a feeling of unease or worse.A further clue, assuming you are not seeing coincidence or correlation as causality (as the says, correlation does not equal causation), is the run of "bad luck" that follows turning down this woman's request. Another clue is this phenomena described is experienced by others. As for protection for your family, see our Spiritual Warfare Prayer Catalog, linked below. It has protection prayers such as the Hedge Prayer of Protection and many other prayers that may be useful to you. While is may cause attacks for a while, I would not longer do favors for this woman, unless it is something urgent like injury where she needs help or an ambulance. Keep in mind that God is more powerful than any black magick or other occult spells and such that this woman can conjure. You need to persevere through any period of attack by living the best Catholic life you and your family can muster with its prayer, devotions, and participation in the Sacraments. In addition to that, avail yourselves of the Spiritual Warfare Prayers when needed. We will be praying for you and for your family.
