Does this seem strange to you? Anne Friday, September 8, 2017

Question:

As I was thinking back when I was in third grade, my father sold his diamond ring, which he was so proud to wear. We had very low finances and he lost his job. My mother had just given birth to my sister, and since we had no insurance, he had to borrow money from an uncle to pay the hospital bill.

To make a long story short, it just seemed if anything bad could happen, it probably would. He began drinking heavily and was angry and argumentative all the time. Sometime's he'd get violent when he was upset.

The diamonds in his ring, believe it or not, were found in a garbage can by my mother when she was a kid. She later on had them appraised, and it turns out that they were real. So that's how he got his ring, of which he was so proud. My mother had them set in a man's ring.

When he sold the ring, the man who bought it from him dropped dead shortly after.

Bottom line: why would anyone toss diamonds into the garbage? We often wondered that. It seemed whoever did it just wanted to be free of them

Dear Anne:

I am sorry to hear about your dad deteriorating behavior. I hope that he eventually changed.

As for the ring I think we need to be careful in interpreting these events you mention. The diamonds may have been stolen and deposited in the garbage, or perhaps they were thrown away by mistake. There are other reasons than the diamonds being cursed as to why they were discarded.

With that said, anything is possible. Demons do attach themselves to objects sometimes. Reporting that after obtaining these diamonds things went bad for the family could be a clue to a curse. The guy who died, however, is most likely a coincidence.

At this point it is hard to know, but it is possible the diamonds had a demonic attachment. Who know? It is one of those family mysteries to be told to grandchildren.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
