Question: I have recently felt the call to combine mental health healing with spiritual healing for my clients. I have had several experiences in the past few weeks that have truly shown me the need for this. I personally received a specific deliverance from a demon with an attribute of anxiety, then witnessed the deliverance of several of my family members through my own intercessory prayers. I have dreams almost nightly where my clients are presented to me and a spiritual attacker is present. Through my dream, I have witnessed them beating my clients, I have personally dragged them (in my dream) to Jesus while He is carrying the cross and hoisted them on his back, I have pleaded to a client in a dream, crying for them to place their hand in the Sacred Heart of Jesus (where, in the dream, they are unable to see Jesus standing right in front of them). Many times, I ask Jesus to cast out the demon, and He does--filling me with overwhelming peace. I've awoken after a dream with a spirit choking me, where I have to call on Jesus to chase it away. I cannot describe it--but I have never had fear in any of this--unless you consider it 'Fear of God' in awe of His presence. Anyway... I recently went on a retreat at my Church to gain clarity in everything that has been going on. I sincerely feel led to join the Secular Franciscans, and have had SEVERAL confirmations that I should continue in the discernment process. I would really like to bring in a more measured, knowledgeable approach to providing 'spiritual counseling' along with my professional counseling. I have a good amount of buy-in at my job, as our clinical director is a Christian and markets our practice as offering Christian Counseling services already. Let me know! Thank you :)
