Adultery with priest Magdalene Friday, October 21, 2016

Question:

My pastor is having an affair with a woman in our town. It's been going on for about 15 years. He started when he "helped" her through a divorce. I found out about it when my pastor tried to seduce me and he was grooming me to be second to her. (It's an unbelievable mess.)

Is there a prayer that I can pray for her? I have already been to my pastor's superior (he is a religious priest) and I believe he is being disciplined and watched more closely. She, on the other hand, is still stuck to him like glue.

I confronted him six months ago and am still experiencing my own emotional and spiritual fall out. Any prayer(s) that would help me recover would be great too. I am seeing a spiritual director about it and, as of this week, a therapist.

Thank you.

Question Answered by

Dear Magdalene:

I am sorry that this woman and yourself had to experience this abuse from the priest. You did the right thing to go to his superior. A priest having an affair is a serious thing.

Since this priest also tried to seduce you, I suspect he is a sex addict and in bondage to the spirit of lust. As such, I recommend the following prayers for you to pray:

Rebuking Particular Spirits-Proxy  (Rebuking spirits of lust and seduction)
Hedge Prayer of Protection for Priests & Religious
Prayer for Priests by Saint Thérèse of Lisieux (the Little Flower)

Proxy Deliverance Prayer for a Friend or Relative

For the woman, I recommend you pray:

Rebuking Particular Spirits-Proxy  (Rebuking spirits of lust and seduction)
Hedge Prayer for Protection of Others
Proxy Deliverance Prayer for a Friend or Relative (listing bondage to lust & seduction)

For yourself:

Rebuking Particular Spirits (Rebuking spirits of lust and seduction)
Hedge Prayer for Protection of Self

Personal Prayer for Deliverance

In addition, our Spiritual Warfare Prayer Team will be praying for you, the woman, and the priest.

It is good that you are seeing a spiritual director and a therapist. That should help a lot.

God loves you. Always remember that. He, and our Blessed Mother, are with you has you go through the process of healing.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
