Question:

Dear Brother,

I was watching a video on YouTube about Spiritual Rooted Diseases and the woman whom did the video mentioned some of the ailments that I currently have; as I have Fibromyalgia, Arthritis, Mild Anxiety, Acid Reflux, PTSD, and a childhood phobia that I still have not gotten over.

In this video, this woman stated that Fibromyalgia is a medical condition but there are no significant test to determine if someone has it and no specific medication in treating it and many of the people she knew whom were suffering with Fibromyalgia; also suffered with fear, anxiety and more. However, she said that many of them whom turned to Jesus were delivered from this condition and many Spiritually Rooted Diseases are part of a curse or of demonic entities.

I feel that the medical conditions I have are Spiritually Rooted Diseases, as I am currently suffering with muscle weakness, however in taking many test, I am grateful that I have no cancer or any other abnormalities and it's been like this for other health related matters too. As I will go for an exam due to pain or discomfort and the Physicians will find nothing wrong with me.

I have seen Psychologist and/or Psychiatrist in the past, but the one I was seeing recently, I was not satisfied with as he did not seem to help me in overcoming certain issues. However, I've been praying a lot, mediating on God's word and watching many Catholic and Christian videos that are enlightening and are actually helping me with certain personal issues. Each time I do this, it seems as though the majority of my pain subsides and I feel better.

In regards to Spiritually Rooted Diseases being demonic and having entities attached to them, I don't know if some of my illnesses are caused by my past association with individuals whom practiced Santeria. I never did any initiation, but I did purchase "good luck" candles and oils such as "peace" and "good luck" which I thought were harmless at the time. During my association which was about 9 years ago with individuals of this religion, there was a gentleman whom liked me and wanted to date me, but I was not interested and rejected him. It seems like after I rejected him, I started to develop multiple illness such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Acid Reflux, and more in which I believe he may have cursed me. I also stopped working due to my health and I had held excellent positions, but now am on Social Security Disability and I miss going to work, socializing and having a more active lifestyle.

With the illnesses I have, could they be Spiritually Rooted Diseases and being that I would like to continue with therapy and counseling, could I seek Pastoral Counseling and how would I find an individual who is a Therapist, but also uses biblical principles.

If you could give me some information on this, I would be grateful; as I would like to be healed physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Thank you,
God Bless,
Crystal

Dear Crystal:

The diseases you mention are all medical diseases. It is not likely that they are spiritually rooted. The only clue you gave that at least some of the problems you have may have a spiritual link is the man in Santeria that you rejected. It is possible that he cursed you.

To be on the save side, while still going to your doctor about these things, is to prayer a Breaking Curses and Spell prayer, plus a Hedge of Protection Prayer, found in our Spiritual Warfare Prayer Catalog, linked below. Plus, any of the other prayers in the Catalog that you find helpful.

I would also advise going through our Seven Steps to Self-Deliverance, also linked below.

Doing these things upon the Foundation of living the Christ-life (Sunday worship, daily prayers and devotions, daily bible reading, etc.) may help you.

As for finding a good Christian Therapist, you will to look around, call some therapists and ask them their approach. Some larger Churches have a therapist on staff. There is also Catholic Charities and Lutheran Social Services that usually offer counseling.

Pastoral Counseling can be found with your own pastor, or with other clergy in your area. The two agencies mentioned above may also be able to provide Pastoral Counseling in addition to psychological counseling. You will have to look around. There are also therapist who provide counseling over the phone. For this you are not limited to your local community, but might find someone anywhere in the country.

Our Spiritual Warfare Prayer Team will be praying for you on a permanent basis.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
