Question: Hi Hope you are doing well. I have a question to ask. I dont know if Im being paranoid or it is something. So recently I have been listening to Fr.Chad Ripperger who is Catholic Exorcist priest. I was listening to about demons or about angel and demons. I found myself it scared me and it feeds into my OCD Or anxiety. I get scared at nightime that some demon or ghost will get me and I find it hard to sleep due to the worry. My family told me not to listen to it because it scares me and that you can attracted bad things if you listen to that stuff. I listen to one guy named Father Jack Ashcraft he was saying that the Pope Francis is not the legitimate Pope and Satan has take over the throne. At first I believe it or was concern about it but then I found another video who was the daughter of Jack Ashcroft saying he was a bad father and he is a fake. I notice a lot of videos on YouTube saying Pope Francis is bad. I even found some Catholic priest was saying it too. But I find it hard not to listen to that stuff because part of me finds it interesting. Anyway I dont know if you have experience this. But recently I have been getting that high pitch sound in my ear. Last night it went on for half hour and I couldnt sleep. I looked it up apparently some people said it was spiritual awakening others said it this condition called Tinnitus. That can be caused by earing lose or depression or stress. Then others say it is demons or angles. Then it got me scared and worry so I thought to ask you. Is the high pitch noise that you get in your ears is it demonic possession or just Tinnitus. Also how do I overcome in being interested in the paranormal or demons or angles. I find if I listen to podcast about it bad things start happening in my life but when I stop it stops. The Doctor replied, "Well, then don't do that." Because of your OCD you need to stay away from any and all videos, TV shows, movies, video games, books, and games that have a occult, demonic, or dark theme. If you do not do this, then you are only making your own life miserable. I know this stuff can be interesting, but you know, a rattlesnake can be interesting to watch, but watch out. Given your OCD, you need to curb your curiosity. It just isn't worth it. To help you with bedtime, however, say a rosary before going to bed, and also pray the Bedtime Prayer of Protection found in our Spiritual Warfare Prayer Catalog, linked below. Under no circumstances should you listen to Jack Ashcraft. He is a schismatic at best, and at worst he is not really a Catholic. That means that he is not in communion with Rome. As for the ringing in the ears, again, stop research stuff on the Internet like this. Go to your doctor. There is most likely a medical reason for the tinnitus. Ringing in the ears is not a symptom of possession, or in itself a symptom of any level of demonization. The fact that bad things happen when you listen to this stuff, and it stops when you stop listen is a major clue that what you are experiencing is psychological. In other words, you are scaring yourself. Stop it. How to curb your curiosity? Well, slap yourself every time you are tempted. I am not kidding. Ask God to help you overcome this compulsion. Anytime you are tempted, say a Hail Mary and read the Bible. The more you pray and read the Bible, the less the temptation will come. Begin all this by living the good Catholic life, with Sunday Mass, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, daily prayers and devotions, and daily Bible Reading.
