What is a Lightworker? David Sunday, January 31, 2016

Question:

I have a 2 part question-

1. I've seen this term Lightworker used online to identify individuals in the new age movement who claim they signed a soul contract before they were born. One of my co-workers told me she was told through automatic writing that she is a light worker. She is a fallen away Catholic who is very anti-Catholic and does what she can to disparage the faith, mass, sacraments, and the saints. They say they are here to bring peace to the world and some upcoming shift will be happening on the earth and the lightworkers are going to ascend. Lightworkers say they know they are lightworkers because they experience what they call ascension symtpoms.

It all sounds strange. Can you provide a complete explanation of what a lightworker is? It sounds like they are aligned with lucifer, workers of his "light" rather than the Lord God. The ascension aspect they're looking forward to sounds like the end times stuff and say the changes are going to be wonderful, however it's not what has been written about in the bible about the end times, or by private revelation from the saints.

2. Can you recommend a book explaining this phenomenon? And what approach can we use to help them return to Christ?

Question Answered by

Dear David:

This is all nonsense, or course.

According to the dingaling, Doreen Virtue:

Lightworkers are those who volunteered, before birth, to help the planet and its population heal from the effects of fear. Each lightworker is here for a sacred purpose. Very often, however, life on earth with its material focus creates a form of amnesia in lightworkers. They then forget their divine and perfect identities, and also their abilities to miraculously help the earth and all living creatures. When lightworkers forget their true identity and purpose, they feel lost and afraid.

Another website gives this definition:

Lightworkers are people who are here for the purpose of raising the consciousness of mankind. They serve in a variety of different ways to help expand light and spread goodness to humanity.

Lightworkers are in human form. They chose to be born or come through as a walk-in* so they could mingle with other human beings living on earth, assisting others in evolving spiritually with more ease.

Their mere existence on earth creates openings for light to come through from higher planes.

A "walk-in" is as defined by these people:

Walk-in souls are souls who choose to incarnate into an established body rather than a newborn infant. Theses souls take on the personality of a life already in existence. A walk-in birthing happens when there is a contractual agreement between two souls to swap places. One soul exits from the human body and re-enters the spiritual realm. The second soul walks into the physical body and takes over the current life midstream.

This transition can take place immediately, OR sometimes the souls will share the body over a period of time. This allows the soul that wishes to depart to stick around for a short while to offer the new soul an introduction or cram-session about the life it is about to take over.

This is not the work of God, and thus, it can only be a work of the "other guy."

You can find many websites of these people in which you can get information about Lightworkers. These people have also produced a lot of books. Here is a list of books on Amazon.

As this comes under the usual nonsense of the New Age, the document, Jesus Christ The Bearer of the Water of Life: A Christian Reflection on the “New Age”, from the Pontifical Council for Culture / Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue, should be read.

As for trying to bring people out of this nonsense and back to the reality of the truth of the Church, I recommend the booklet, Beginning Apologetics: How to Answer Atheist and New Agers. This booklet and many others may be purchased at San Juan Catholic Seminars.

 I hope this helps.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
