Question: Dear Brother, It is in connection with a similar question I asked you in this forum, dated Monday, November 24, 2008. As you suggested, I visited and got examined my neurologist - medical practitioner in this regard. An EEG was taken and she said I am OK. No medicine was prescribed. She asked me to ignore it. Any way, I resorted to auto-suggestion and all, to get rid of it. I succeeded to a certain extend only. For the past couple of years, because of certain per-occupations I was away from charismatic renewal. Now I am again back into it. The jerks are also back as I had noted in the previous question. Charismatic people around me and my elder are positive about it. But I would like to get an opinion from your side. What should be my attitude towards it. in christ Francis

The Charismatic Renewal tends to be problematic and tends to spiritualize everything and often interprets phenomena as from God when it is not. I suggest you read Charism Gifts Building Up the Church. I do not see how these jerks are from God. God does not do such things in my opinion. If these jerks are not medical or psychological, then they are demonic. The devil has the motive to create these jerks in hopes that you and others will be lead astray. I suggest you ask God to take these jerks away. If the jerks do not go away then we know for sure that they are not a gift from God. God never forces himself on us. If we do not want a gift, then he will not force it upon us. If the jerks do not go away after asking God to take them away, I would recommend that you rebuke the spirit behind these jerks with the prayer, Rebuking Particular Spirits. In this prayer you identify the spirit (the spirit behind these jerks), ask God to cast it away, then ask for the opposite spirit (in this case, perhaps a spirit Holy Prayer).
