Question:

I am a 36 yr old convert to the faith. I have been Catholic the past 12 years. However, I have struggled with attacks of the enemy my entire life. Some examples include:

  • obsessive thoughts, including harm to myself;
  • inability to pray or concentrate on matters of faith;
  • strange phenomena in the home like objects moving on their own, hearing voices, seeing shadows or figures, hearing footsteps. And there is much more.

I have sought help for this before. It seems every time I get help, something happens. I had a deacon doing deliverance over myself and my son. (This ceased when he developed cancer and had to undergo treatment and we then moved out of state.) I've also had a priest in our current city assist us with deliverance, and he was subsequently transferred out of town. Each time I've tried to seek assistance, I feel it's been blocked. We've had Mass said in our home, as well as had our home blessed. I try to make it to Confession at least once a month, I work as a teacher in the school connected to my church, I have a weekly Holy Hour within our Perpetual Adoration program. I have a devotion to the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, and also try to say the Rosary daily. We attend Mass weekly, and I usually go at least twice a week, sometimes more. I feel as though the more I try to seek Jesus, the worse things get.

I am unsure if I should fill out the one time appointment on your site, or if I should seek formal deliverance counseling. I would hate to waste anyone's time, and prefer to go about things in the most concise way. Any assistance you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much.

Dear Sheri:

The one-time appointments are designed to offer a little advice about spiritual warfare to better enable people to help themselves. Formal Deliverance Counseling is for people who need deliverance when self-help methods are not sufficient or previous deliverance attempts have been unsuccessful.

Based on the symptoms you have described and the previous attempts you have made to find freedom from this affliction, I would recommend that you undergo full Deliverance Counseling. Formal Counseling takes a minimum of around three months, or more if needed. It is never a waste of time to help a suffering soul. That is our mission. We invite you to fill out our Help Request Form to begin the process of deliverance.

In any event, we will be praying for you.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
