dramatic reappearance of ring | Eric | Tuesday, August 12, 2014 |
Question: Hello Brother. Several months ago I lost my wedding ring. I had lost a considerable amount of weight due to diet and exercise, and the ring had been slipping off for a while, so I was not surprised that I lost it. After searching everywhere in vain, I said a prayer to St. Anthony. It still did not turn-up, so I got a new one made. This morning, as my wife and I were in bed about to get up, we both heard a distinctive clank as if something metal had fallen on the floor. It was at approximately 4:30am. It turned out to be the missing ring. It was on the floor on my wife's side of the bed. Both of us heard the sound and we have no doubt that the ring fell from somewhere and hit the floor. As I picked the ring up, the hair on my body stood on end and I got goosebumps all over. It felt as if electricity was going through me, but I was not shocked or physically injured in any way. It was a creepy feeling; nonetheless. My question is: What do you think could have happened here? I can't help but to deduce that something supernatural occurred because, through cold logic, I have eliminated all other possible explanations. There was no place the ring could have fallen from. It is as if the ring just fell out of thin air. Very odd, indeed As a side note, I'd like to add that after this morning's occurrence with the reappearance of the ring, my wife confided in me that yesterday morning, as she was downstairs baking cookies, she heard a noise coming from the guest bedroom which is upstairs, next to our bedroom. She said it sounded like someone was getting out of, or into, the bed. She was home alone. I decided to include this information because it may be pertinent to what happened today with ring. I am happy to have my wedding ring back and plan to start wearing it again after I get it resized. It has much sentimental value plus it was blessed by the Catholic Priest who presided over our wedding. Something about this whole situation gives me the creeps though! My wife thinks we may have a "friendly" ghost, but I do not think such a thing exists. From having read many of your responses on this forum, as well as the article about the seven kinds of ghosts, I believe that, if, indeed, something supernatural happened, it is likely demonic in origin. I am trying to be positive though, and keep telling myself that perhaps it was just St. Anthony answering my prayer, and it just took him several months to get around to it! ;-) God bless you! |

Dear Eric: Before considering any spiritual causes to this we must always examine natural possibilities. I know you said that you've examined every possibility that you can think of. Yet, it is possible that somehow that ring got caught up in the bed some way that was never noticed and just happened to fall out that morning. With that said, there is a phenomenon in which I refer to what I call mosquito demons. These demons do not normally cause a lot of harm, but you might say they are dirty trickster's. It is possible that this is what is happening in your case. Something almost identical to this happen to me to. When I was young man, newly married, and in the military, I got up one morning to report to base and I could not find my watch. Before going to bed I always placed my watch on the dresser. But it was not there that morning. My wife and I searched the entire bedroom, we looked under the bed, between the mattresses, behind the dresser, under the dresser, but no watch. We had taken every single item off the dresser. The only thing left on that dresser was dust. After we spent about 15 or 20 minutes looking around the house for my watch we came back into the bedroom and found the watch sitting smack in the middle of the dresser. It was not possible for us to miss seeing that watch because we had taken everything off the dresser in search for it. I believe that this was a mosquito demon playing tricks on us. Why would a demon do such a thing? Well, one reason would be to perhaps make me late for work. Another reason could be to frustrate us. And yet another reason could be for us to get curious about the paranormal and be tempted away from God and toward paranormal speculations. I did get to work on time, but I suppose the demon did succeed in making me frustrated. But any attempt the demon may have had to tempt me away from God completely failed. I recognized this as simply a dirty trick played on us by a demon. That's what you want to consider this, and nothing more. Your wife needs to abandon the idea of a "friendly ghost." That is exactly the kind of temptation a demon would want to try to accomplish. If you want to know something about ghosts then take a look at essay, Seven Kinds of Ghosts. I would advise you and your wife, however, to consider this a minor trickster demon trying to instill curiosity and temptation. Resist that curiosity and temptation and go your way.
