Question:

Since the Church seems to ban laywomen from saying the long St. Micheal's Prayer and a translation of the older rite of exorcism can I try to find an eastern orthodox official prayer for deliverance to deliver myself? Could I use for a friend?

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OMSM(r), CCL, LTh, DD, LNDC

Dear Terra:

This has nothing to do with being a woman. No one but a priest can use the full long St. Michael Prayer as written or use the Rite of Exorcism.

If you wish to use deliverance prayers, we have a Catalog, linked below with prayers you can use for yourself or on behalf of a friend..

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
