Dear Josefina: Perseverance is the key to the Christian life in general and certain is the key to overcoming demonic harassments. The devil does not want to let go of you and will do what he can to get you back into the occult, and baring that, to at least make you miserable. Resist him and he shall flee the Bible tells us, but we cannot predict when he will flee. The is were perseverance comes in. Continue the good fight, remain faithful, and eventually the devil will flee. On how to do this, I would advise going through the Seven Steps to Self-deliverance, linked below, plus using prayers from our Spiritual Warfare Prayer Catalog, also linked below. The Hedge Prayer of Protection should be prayed daily. There is also a prayer to Control Thoughts that can be prayed as often as you need. Then there is the Rebuking Particular Spirit. Pray this Rebuking prayer daily and then each and every time some intrusive thought comes to you pray a shortened version such as:
If intrusive thoughts come to you 50 times a day, then you must rebuke that spirit 50 times a day. Also, try to redirect your mind elsewhere. Repeat "Hail Mary," for example, over and over again until the intrusive thoughts go away. Hail Mary is all that is needed but you can recite the whole prayer if you wish. The idea is to occupy your mind with something else. Do not let the devil to seduce you into being fed up. That is what he wants. Rather, turn this around and make this harassment an opportunity for spiritual growth. Thank God that he is allowing you to suffer. Join your suffering with that of Christ's for the salvation of souls. In this way you steal the devil's thunder and make it a blessing to others and to yourself. God will give you many graces for this. We will be praying for you. God Bless, For information on how to receive help see our Help page. We suggest that before contacting us directly for help you try the Seven Steps to Self-Deliverance. These self-help steps will often resolve the problem. Also our Spiritual Warfare Prayer Catalog contains many prayers that may be helpful. If needed you can ask for a Personal Consultation.
