Question:

I believe I did something wrong against God. I don't know if I just ask forgives from God by myself or do I have to do certain pray?

Ok so what happened was. I was at a movie set I was an extra and I meet this lady who was an extra too. We recognise each other because we were extras at a tv series together. Anyway we got into the subject of the paranormal. She told me she can channel through spirits. She told me since I asked about myself. That I was an indigo soul and she told me how I have three ancestors watching over me. She described this one man that she was quit spot on. Who was my great great grandfather. I know this because I've seen a photo of him. She also told me that I've been on this earth like 2 or three times. I felt a werid feeling like she was reading my soul. I felt exposed. Say for example running around naked in public. That's how I felted. I did asked her if my sister be ok because she got pregnant . She told me she can't say. i asked will she be ok? and she said yes. From then on after I meet her once because we were at the same tv series as extras. I told her a week later my sister had a miscarriage. she reply " yes thats why I didn't want to say anything"

From then on I been having disturbing / sexual dreams. I told my mum. She say to pray to Jesus before you go to bed to protect you. Which I have and I have stop having disturbing horrible dreams.

Now I have fallen sick with a sore throat. I don't know that's got to do with that lady or just stress from my family drama lately.

Thank you

God bless

Jane :)

Dear Jane:

Consulting a so-called psychic, seeking divination (information about future), or seeking other occult knowledge is a very grave sin. It is a violation of the First Commandment to have no other gods before the True God. This is no more serious sin than to sin against the First Commandment. You need to bring this to the Sacrament of Confession at the next opportunity and do not receive the Eucharist until you do.

The Catechism states:

Divination and magic

2115 God can reveal the future to his prophets or to other saints. Still, a sound Christian attitude consists in putting oneself confidently into the hands of Providence for whatever concerns the future, and giving up all unhealthy curiosity about it. Improvidence, however, can constitute a lack of responsibility.

2116 All forms of divination are to be rejected: recourse to Satan or demons, conjuring up the dead or other practices falsely supposed to "unveil" the future. Consulting horoscopes, astrology, palm reading, interpretation of omens and lots, the phenomena of clairvoyance, and recourse to mediums all conceal a desire for power over time, history, and, in the last analysis, other human beings, as well as a wish to conciliate hidden powers. They contradict the honor, respect, and loving fear that we owe to God alone.

2117 All practices of magic or sorcery, by which one attempts to tame occult powers, so as to place them at one's service and have a supernatural power over others - even if this were for the sake of restoring their health - are gravely contrary to the virtue of religion. These practices are even more to be condemned when accompanied by the intention of harming someone, or when they have recourse to the intervention of demons. Wearing charms is also reprehensible. Spiritism often implies divination or magical practices; the Church for her part warns the faithful against it. Recourse to so-called traditional cures does not justify either the invocation of evil powers or the exploitation of another's credulity.

The so called "channeling" is contacting a demon, even if the "psychic" does not know it. The idea of "being on earth 2-3 times" is utter nonsense and is part of occult philosophy. We are on this earth only once. When we die we go to God for judgment, and spend eternity in heaven or hell. There is no such thing as "coming back" or any other kind of reincarnation.

Because you have, I am sorry to put it this way, stupidly, and gravely sinned by participating in occult matters. By involving yourself in this occult activity you have given permission for the devil to harass you. Even when the sin is forgiven in the Sacrament, the consequences of the sin may remain. So far these consequences were the disturbing dreams you had.

It was very correct and proper to pray for protection. It apparently worked. But, to stave off any future harassments you need to first confess your sin in the Sacrament and then pray the Prayer After Confession To Re-Claim Ground Taken By Satan.

Other prayers in our Spiritual Warfare Prayer Catalog, linked below, that I would advise all people to pray is the Hedge Prayer of Protection. When needed there are also prayer to Control Thoughts and a Bedtime Prayer of Protection.

I pray that there will be no further harassment and that that disturbing dreams will be all that there is to it. If so, you have dodge a bullet. To be on the safe side, be sure to pray the prayers mentioned above.

And, NEVER DO ANYTHING LIKE THIS AGAIN. Do not walk, but run far away from such people in the future. If anyone approaches you wanting to offer such services or information, decline (forcibly if need be with a person who insists on talking to you about such things).

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
