Can I tell a devil "no" | Karra | Friday, July 12, 2013 |
Question: If I tell a demon no mentally to a sin they are trying to push on me (like mentally pushing me to internally utter God's name with disgust, disrespect, and hate towards Him would that qualify as the sort of talking to demons that is banned to everyone that is not a priest-exorcist by the Catholic Church? |

Dear Karra: The Church does not allow us to have conversations with demons, like to ask them their names or to converse with them. We CAN command them and rebuke them: "I rebuke you demon of blasphemy. Get away from me. Father in heaven, cast this demon away from me and give me only thoughts that are pleasing to You." So, yes, when a demon tries to get you to think bad thoughts, rebuke them. There is a rebuking prayer and a control thoughts prayer in our Spiritual Warfare Catalog linked below.
