Weird occurrences in old apartment Marie Monday, June 24, 2013

Question:

When my sister lived in her old apartment, about 1-2 times a year she would have something strange happen to her. Once, she put a plate on the counter, turned away, and then turned back to find the plate gone. She only had about 5 plates, so she counted the ones in the kitchen. One was missing. She went to another room to settle down, and on her way back to the kitchen, she saw the plate sitting on the edge of her dining room table.

Once she heard growling noises in her living room one night while she was in bed. Once she awoke to find that her mattress was above the box springs, and then it dropped, slamming her down. She also awoke once to find herself levitating above the bed, and then she was dropped down. She was confirmed catholic, but I don't believe that she continued to practice her faith and receive the sacraments. I don't think she was involved with the occult in any way, but she was (and still is) seeing a chiropractor and it's possible that she had committed some unconfessed mortal sin in her adult life.

My main question is, must she have done something to open herself to these attacks and manifestations, or is it possible that she was some kind of innocent bystander, suffering from some kind of evil that was attached to her building or apartment? She has since moved to a different state and has no longer experienced any other strange occurrences.

Any advice or comments would be appreciated. Any questions that I should ask her or advice that I should give her?

By the way, the table that was in her old apartment came from her grandmother's house, which also had the occasional "strange occurrence". That table is no longer in her new apartment. She does have another piece of our grandmother's furniture, however, in her new apartment.

Dear Marie:

Evil can be completely arbitrary. Thus, one does not have to do anything to experience some of these things. A person can be an innocent bystander.

Normally, however, even as an innocent bystander, a person's lifestyle or lack of devout faith can attract or enhance phenomena. If your sister is not practicing her faith then that makes her vulnerable.

The fact that the phenomena ceased after she moved may indicate that the phenomena was not linked to her, but to the apartment and/or to that table. Demons can and do attach themselves to places and objects.

Your sister needs to renew her faith, but the situation described here seems to have ceased. The table or your grandmother's should be destroyed, if possible. We have a document that describes how to destroy occult or cursed objects. If nothing is happening with the other piece of furniture in the apartment, that piece may be free from any attachments.

Pray for her to regain her faith. She will always be vulnerable unless she returns to full communion with God and His Church.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
