Dear Omar: Welll, as I read the quote, Folletti are not a "type" of demon, but a specific demon. In any case, no demon is "immune" to exorcism. That is the wrong word. But, as I mentinoed in the previous post, there are some demons more resistant than others. Some demons seem to be successful in resistanting commands of exorcists. Even more, we, as human beings, seem to fail to cast out some demons, for whatever reasons, regardless of how many exorcisms are performed. Even with Jesus there is an example of resistance. The demons called, Legion, resisted Jesus commands for a short time:
Jesus "had" already commanded the demons to leave, but they did not leave immediately. The commands of Jesus did prevail. The example of St. Paul's affliction of a demon is not an example of demons not obeying exorcism commands. No exorcism was performed on St. Paul. He personally asked God for relief and it was God who decided to leave St. Paul harassed by the demon. The relative strength of the demon had nothing to do with it. While some demons may be successful in resisting man's prayers and even the prayers of solemn exorcism, no demon can successfully resist God. In any case, where all the attempts of men and the Church fail to cast out a demon, and the reason is not due to the demonized person's resistance to the deliverance or to submit to Christ, it can only be because of God's will who, for whatever reasons, is allowing the person to remain demonized or possessed. Such a decision by God will always be based on what is best for the person. In St. Paul's case of a rather minor harassment from a demon, it was in his best interest to remain harassed. The case of Emily Rose may have been a case in which full possession of the girl was determined by God to be in her best interest and the interest of others who benefited from her suffering, to which she volunteered to suffer. God's will never is opposed to our best interest and to His Glory that affects others. God Bless,
