Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OMSM(r), CCL, LTh, DD, LNDC
Dear Stephen: Vassula Ryden is not even close to being consistent with the Catholic Faith. She is a fake seer and proposes things that are heretical and not consistent with the Catholic Faith. Both the Catholic Church and the Greek Orthodox Church have officially condemned her "communications" and writing as not being supernatural (that is, not coming from God). Have nothing to do with her. The Congregation on the Doctrine of the Faith (CDF) issued a statement in 1995 declaring that her writings and communications did not come from God and that Bishops worldwide were to prevent her ideas from spreading in their dioceses. The Greek Orthodox Church made the same declaration in 2011. Here is the Notification from the CDF. Despite this, people still wrote the Vatican for clarification about Ryden. Apparently they do not know the meaning of "no". It is like what part of "no" do these people not understand? the "n" or the "o" Because of this, in 2007 the new Prefect of the CDF Cardinal William Levada re-affirmed the 1995 declaration and reminded the faithful that they are not to take part in prayer groups and such lead by Ryden. A copy of the Prefect's letter is found here. God Bless, For information on how to receive help see our Help page.
