Praying for enemies George Sunday, November 14, 2004

Question:

I was praying for someone who seems to be invovled with paganism (praying for conversion) and also wears a detailed pagan tattoo. I didn't see anything wrong with praying for his conversion but afterward I became fearful that this person would retaliate against me in some way such as through magic. I felt moved to pray a prayer of protection against evil. Is this ok? or Is this a sin?

Dear George:

Sorry about the delay in answering.

Yes, this is ok and even wise. You shouldn't become paranoid about it, but a prayer of protection is a wise safeguard.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
