All these strange things what does it mean? Jane Sunday, February 3, 2013

Question:

Hi. I have in the past when I was a young teenager looked up supernatural stuff. Like watched ghost hunters tv series or look up stories on the net. I have never touch a Ouija board anything as I have been warned by my parents. They haven't touch it but they heard stories.

When I was much into it. One time I was sitting in my living room and it was daylight. I looked up at the balcony upstairs and I swear I saw two black silhouette gargoyles sitting up on the balcony. It happened very quick. Also I saw a red thing run past outside my house after the shadow gargoyles. That scared me and I stop looking it up for a while. Though I do find myself coming back to watch a ghost hunter tv series or read up ghost stories or people who have done the Ouija etc.

I notice whenever I get into it a lot my boyfriend starts seeing things. Like one time he was exercise on the school field late at night and he saw this shadow figure with a cloak standing there. He say it cause burning feeling the on his back. He ignored it and kept running and when he came home he lay on the ground and couldn't breath well. It went away. At that time when he was running the lights in the house flicker. On other time he told me he was doing the laundry at night time and he saw this face up against the window. He told me when they move into there house the dog and cat barked and hissed at the main door with there fur up. None thing has happen since.

I don't if its a connection with me or the area. Because the name of the street is called Waipahu Street in which translated it from Maori to English it means graveyard lake. It's an old area so I do begin to wonder.

When I was seven at night time I was sleeping in my room with my sister. We share a bedroom. The bedroom light was off but the hall way light was on. I woke up and saw this human shadow figure standing by the door. I looked at it and I got the feeling it got scared of me. So it sweep under my sisters bed. I ran out saying to my mum I saw a ghost.

I just wonder for a long time what this all means. Sorry it was long. Have a good day. From Jane.

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OMSM(r)

Dear Jane:

Sorry about the delay in responding.

The phenomena you describe, assuming it was not you psyching yourself out, is the kind of phenomena that happens in genuine accounts of demonic presence.

What this means is that you need to stop immediately all interest in the occult, ghosts, and paranormal phenomena. Stop reading any books on the subject, playing any occult or ghost games, watching any movies on occult or ghost themes, and especially stop watching those ghost busting shows. If you have any occult books, games, videos, or other paraphernalia in your possession, you need to destroy those items.

All of these items can be a trigger for you, like going into a bar is a trigger for an alcoholic. Since you have had these experiences, you are more sensitive to the triggers. To avoid further harassments, stay away from all these things.

Second, I suggest you work through the Seven Steps to Self-Deliverance and use the Spiritual Warfare Prayer Catalog, both linked below.

Thirdly, it is important that you live the best Catholic life you can. Do all the things that devout Catholics do — go to Mass each Sunday and Holy Days of Obligation, say daily devotional prayers, read and study the Bible and the Catechism, go to Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament at least one hour per week, etc.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
