Question:

Hello,

I reverted to Catholicism last easter after many years of spiritual wandering, and God has healed me in many many ways. I have also started having a serious spiritual practice everyday. Grace has become a part of my life.

Though I think that I am having problems of the demonic order. I think it is a reasonable assumption that a demon that used to hang around me (for the past 4 years), is now trying to fight me. Also, I recently started dating a friend who I am pretty sure has some demonic problems as well (she is a lapsed Catholic).

I prayed the St Michael prayer over her earlier when she was feeling awful, and she felt some relief -- but now I feel under attack in a more intense and real way than I have ever felt, which is why I'm reaching out for help. I had been hoping that these problems would just go away naturally through the spiritual and sacramental life, but looking for a little extra seems wise to me at this point.

I have been praying all night and am about to say the Rosary dedicated to spiritual protection, but I would like to take more definitive measures in the near future. This would mean getting some practical advice, and maybe speaking face to face with a priest who is familiar with these things.

I've tried to be as succinct as possible as I do not feel comfortable writing about the details of this over the internet.

Thank you for your ministry! God bless.

Robert

Question Answered by

Dear Robert:

If you feel demonic harassment, then I advise that you check out the Spiritual Warfare Prayer Catalog, linked below. There is, for example, a Hedge of Protection that you and your girlfriend ought to pray. There is also a Rebuking Particular Spirits that you can use to rebuke the spirit of whatever attribute is exhibited by the demon, such as the spirit of lust, anger, depression, etc.

I also advise that you and your girlfriend work though the Seven Steps to Self-Deliverance, linked below.

But, none of this will be effective unless you and your girlfriend are devout Catholics. If your girlfriend is a lapsed Catholic, then she needs to return to the Church to have any hope of deliverance.

Being the best Catholic you know how to be, doing all the things that devout Catholics do, such as Sunday Mass, daily prayers and bible study, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, and especially coming to the Sacraments is necessary. The Sacraments of Confession and the Eucharist are the best deliverance prayers we have.

If you and she begin living the devout Catholic life, avail yourself with the Catalog and also the Seven Steps you will likely resolve this harassment. But, if you find no relief then you can contact us for direct help.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
