Coinciding demonic dreams with roommate Jonathan Friday, October 26, 2012

Question:

Dear Br. Ignatius Mary,

I had a truly horrifying dream last night, and I would GREATLY appreciate some guidance and perhaps explication.

I was with a girl who was attracted to me, and her friend was with us for a little while. Her friend left us and her and I were in my father's kitchen and she began to disrobe. To not get too graphic I proposed we should leave to my room, when I saw her friend on the ground in a sick sexual position. I proposed that three of us should have intercourse together and the girl I was with became very offended and sad.

The next thing I know we are having intercourse and she is looking down at me with the most sinister eyes. At that moment I had thought that perhaps I raped her by goading her into continuing the intercourse when she didn't want to continue, and that she was going to report me to the police. She just stared at me with her black hair covering her face and with a wry and disturbing smile. I was begging her to let me explain but I quickly realized there was no hope. That was when I realized that I was dreaming and that she was the devil. Not only that SHE was the devil, but that THE devil was ACTUALLY messing with me, in reality.

I woke up within my dream and sat up frantically on my bed to scream for help to my roommate who was sleeping in the other room next door. Immediately when that happened I saw a shadow come out from my head and scurry away (or perhaps the girl turned into the shadow). When I tried to yell, a force muffled my voice and slammed me on the bed. I realized I was possessed and that I had absolutely no control over my body but that I was completely conscious and sane.

In my hopelessness I learned the lesson that ALL I had, at every moment in my life, was God and I started praying the Hail Mary. Ironically I had prayed the Hail Mary spontaneously right before I went to sleep, and I was aware that this was out of the ordinary.

But going back to the story, I saw at a distance in my consciousness, the Virgin of Guadalupe, and it gave me the peace I always get when I think about the Blessed Virgin.

It probably wasn't 10 seconds from there that I woke up again, this time actually screaming for my friend.

When he came he reminded me about a time when something extremely similar happened to him. He was being muffled by demons and mocked by them as he tried to scream out for me to help him. He also started praying the Hail Mary and saw a distant light approaching him and repelling "the darkness". His mother also had an experience with a shadow scurrying away from her after she felt something touching her.

I'd like to ask if this was possibly a real encounter with demonic forces considering the story and the almost identical experience my friend had. Also, what role does the Blessed Virgin Mary play in spiritual warfare and if there are any good books and resources on the subject because I feel strongly called to know more about it.

Forgive me for the long post.

God bless.

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OMSM(r)

Dear Jonathan:

I am not completely sure what was the dream and what was not. I have indented the paragraphs that appear to be a dream to clearly separate the dreams from the reality. I hope I got it right.

As for the dream, it is possible to have demonic dreams, that is, dreams inspired by demons, and even to be attacked by demons through dreams. I have had similar experiences.

The reason why your dream and the dreams of your roommate and his mother are so similar is that the likely source of the dreams was not the unconscious, which is where normal dreams come from, but in the real world of demons. Since demons act in certain similar ways it stands to reason that similar images and emotions will be evoked when demons attack this or that person.

It is also possible that the same demons, even, were involved in attacking you, your friend, and his mother.

The role of Mary is pivotal, and a source of constant irritation to Satan and his demons. Mary has been given the privilege of crushing the head of Satan. We are invited to help her in this task. St. Louis de Montfort wrote:

Mary will raise up apostles of the latter times to make war against the evil one. . .. But the power of Mary over all the devils will especially shine forth in the latter times, when Satan will lay his snares against her heel: that is to say, her humble slaves and poor children, whom she will raise up to make war against him. They shall be little and poor in the world's esteem, and abased before all like the heel, trodden underfoot and persecuted as the heel is by other members of the body. But in return for this they shall be rich in the grace of God, which Mary shall distribute to them abundantly. They shall be great and exalted before God in sanctity. Superior to all creatures by their lively zeal, and so well sustained with God's assistance that, with the humility of their heel, in union with Mary, they shall crush the head of the devil and cause Jesus Christ to triumph.

Our organization is dedicated to this cause, to be Apostles of the Latter Times, to assist our Blessed Mother in crushing the head of Satan and causing Jesus Christ to triumph.

Satan hates our Blessed Mother almost as much as he hates God. Therefore, the presence of Holy Mary is ever-present in exorcisms and deliverance to defeat the devil in people's lives.

Jesus Christ is the King of Spiritual Warfare, our Blessed Mother is Queen of Spiritual Warfare, and St. Michael the Archangel is the Prince of Spiritual Warfare, Sts. Peter and Paul are the six-stared Generals of Spiritual Warfare, other Saints like St. Benedict are the 5-star Generals of Spiritual Warfare, the Pope is the 4-star General of Spiritual Warfare, the cardinals are the 3 and 2-star Generals, and the other bishops are the 1-star Generals. The rest of us hold whatever rank that God has given us as Priest, Religious, and laity. We are all in God's Army whether or not we know it and whether or not we want to be. The only discernment is to find out what rank we have and what task we have been assigned.

As we say in our Confraternity of the Legionnaires of St. Michael, the Church, which is the ship of Salvation, is God's Navy, the Angels are God's Air Force, the Faithful are God's Army, and those who are specialists, like the exorcists appointed by their bishops, and organizations like the Legionnaires of St. Michael, are God's crack elite Marine Corp who operates not only on the front lines of Spiritual Warfare, but also as commandos behind enemy lines.

At the center of all this is our Blessed Mother. Without her none of this is possible as she is the one God appointed to crush Satan's proud head.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
