Question: Hello Brother, Are you familiar with this new move which claims to be based on a true story called "the possession?" http://culture.com/film/12379/possession/synopsis.phtml If so, what are your thoughts on the story? Thanks, and God bless you and your ministry.
Question Answered by Dear Omar: I have not seen the movie, but I have seen the trailer. As expected the movie bares little resemblance to the real story. It is disingenuous for the movie producers to say, "Based on a True Story." A more appropriate phrase would be "Inspired by a True Story" since the only thing "true" in the movie is the the box. I have read the newspaper accounts of the real story. What has been described as the phenomena associated with this box is certainly possible. I demon, however, cannot be locked in a box, but a demon can be attached to the box. I absolutely recommend that that this film NOT BE SEEN. I issue a warning that to watch this movie is risking demonic harassment or even attachment. Movies like this and The Exorcist can actually trigger very real demonic harassment and worse.
