Behold My Heart Which Has So Loved Men | Joseph | Friday, August 24, 2012 |
Question: Maybe you've heard of this devotional book? But my question regards the dialogue, recorded in the first half of the work, between an unnamed victim soul and Jesus. It's not approved by the Church to the best of my knowledge, but it seems to be legit (as in it matches up with what I know of the writings of St. John of the Cross, St. Louis De Montfort, and St. Anne Catherine Emmerich). |

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OMSM(r)
Dear Joseph: The book, "Behold My Heart Which has do Loved Men", the section you are referring to, has an imprimatur by Bishop Charles R. Koester. Thus, that dialogue, which is a private revelation, has been examined and found free from any doctrinal error. This does not mean that the private revelation has been officially approved, only that it is free from doctrinal error. Even when a private revelation is officially approved, the Faithful are not bound to believe it or to follow devotions that comes from it. The rest of the book is an compilation of many various Catholic prayers and devotions, as well as the text the Gospels of Mark and John. Since those dialogue, and the whole book, has an imprimatur, there is no problem using it for your devotional readings prayers. God Bless, For information on how to receive help see our Help page.
