Question: Dear Brother; I'm glad to hear that you are feeling better or on level with how you were before. We will still pray that God heals you and keeps you in His care. About 15 years ago I had a home birth using what I now think was new age midwives. When we met with them at their house before the birth we saw in their resume that they had spoken at a new age conference. We asked them about that and the jist of it was that they speak at many conferences. Because of their answer and because there was nothing outward in their home (although we didn't go in every room) we had them come to the birth and also I went to them for monthly appointments. They never gave me any herbs or prayers, mentioned anything that could in anyway be understood to be new age. They mentioned no religion at all. Yet the day I was in labor when they came to my house, one of their assistants was reading a new age magazine. Maybe it was hers and not the midwives, I don't know. The birth went fine and when the midwife mentioned visualizing the baby coming out I said I would pray instead and she said fine. My question is do you think I have anything to worry about if the midwives were more into new age than they showed? Could we have put ourselves and our baby in danger if they were more involved than we thought? We haven't had any spiritual problems but I thought I would ask anyways.

If there has been no hint of any spiritual problems all these years then there is probably nothing to worry about. If you wish, you might say a simple prayer to be safe asking God to remove anything not of God or any entities that may have been attached due to these midwives. Father in heaven, thank you for loving us so much to offer your Son for our Salvation. We thank you for the gift of our son/daughter _______. Help us to be the parents You want us to be. Protect our family from all harm and from the attacks of the Evil One. We ask You, Lord, to place a hedge of protection around each member of our family and around our household as a whole and help us to keep that hedge secure. Father, our family has been such a blessing. We want to consecrate our family to You in every way. Since we had new age midwives helping with the birth of ______ we ask You, Lord, to forgive us of this and to remove from our son/daughter, and from our entire family and household, any curse, spells, attachments, and any other thing not of You Lord, that may have been placed upon our child or our family, and also to cast out any evil entities who may have attached themselves to our son/daughter and our family. We ask all these things with the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, blessed Apostles Peter and Paul, blessed St. Michael the Archangel, St. Benedict and all the saints and angels of heaven, and holy in the powerful name of You Son, Jesus Christ.
