Question: Please help. My daughter saw this "thing" about 7 years ago in her bed, she was in 6th or 7th grade. Fast forward to now, she has been diagnosed with diabetes type one-the worst type of diabetes, has been in the hospital 4 times because she did not want to care for herself with the insulin. She has the attitude that she doesn't care anymore, she is now at a children's hospital for a couple of months for therapy. She has had the diabetes now for about a good two years. I am thinking this "thing" made her sick. I want to know if she is possessed? I did research and I found that seeing this 'thing' means illness or death. How can I turn this around? I pray the rosary every day and I say numerous other prayers everyday. She is not getting better at the hospital; it only has been about three weeks so far that she has been there. I feel so helpless on how to help her. She does not act like she is possessed, but, she has no will to live, which in turn, makes her not want to control her diabetes, which I THINK came from this 'thing'. She does not like that she feels this way. At one time, there was cutting. She is being evaluated for depression. I know that high's and low's glucose levels affect the chemical in the brain and cause depression, she did have extreme highs and lows-----but-----I cannot put this out of my mind about this 'thing' that she saw in her bed, she could not take a shower for 6 months while alone, I had to be in the bathroom everytime she was in there because she was petrified. It has been about a 3-4 difference when she saw this 'thing' and when she got afflicted with diabetes type one. Her best friend told me she saw this 'thing' when she was in 2-3 grade, which I did not know, I just found out. I need some help to help her, I don't know if she is possessed or not, maybe in a mild form?? Please help and tell me what to do. We go to church once a week and I really don't understand why this happened to her. She also was an altar girl. I raised her with morals. She is a good girl and very smart in school. I just don't understand how to fix this, I know there is a way. |

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OMSM(r)
Dear D: I am sorry to her about your daughter. From your description I would say your daughter is not possessed. CORRECTION: I have been informed that dehydration that can be a problem especially with diabetes can cause this sort of hallucination. It is an hallucination, however, not a demonic visitation. See Symptoms of Diabetic Hallucinations and What Are the Causes of Hallucinations in Children? I am glad she is in the hospital so that she can be thoroughly evaluated. Three weeks is not enough time to evaluate her, so be patient. It is possible that the depression can have a spiritual element in addition to any medical or psychiatric causes. You can pray the Rebuking Particular Spirits-Proxy . In this prayer you rebuke the spirit of depression and ask for a spirit of joy. Also the Proxy Deliverance Prayer for a Friend or Relative, and the Hedge Prayer for Protection of Others, and any other prayer you think helpful in our Spiritual Warfare Prayer Catalog. Do not give up. Keep praying for her. Your prayers, and ours, can help to get rid of any demonic elements. The rest will have to be handled by medical and psychiatric professionals. When she is able she should pray some of the prayers in the Catalog as well. It would be good for her to follow the Seven Steps to Self-Deliverance. We will be in prayer for her. God Bless,
