Question: I am a self-employed profesional working to support a wife and three kids. I have been struggling with extreme financial stress for years. At one point I got mixed up with some unsrupulous loan shark types. I am facing foreclosure on my home. I have tried to get a regular job to no avail. Lately it seems like I am about to close a large or lucrative transaction that will net thousands of dollars at one time and it always falls through at the last moment. This has happened several times in the recent past. My wife has written to you before. She has felt an evil presence in our house. She also suffers from depression and anxiety. The question I have is: "Could I have been cursed by someone with evil spritual powers." Is this possible?? And if so what can I do ? Pray some deliverance prayers.
Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OMSM(r) Dear Jose: Yes, it is possible that a curse could have been cast against you and your family. Such things do happen. We should not be too quick to come to that conclusion, however, as the kind of things that have happened to your family can have natural explanations. Fr. Amorth talks about curses in his book. One clue that a curse "might" be present is if one's life fits the old saying, "If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all." Again, we have to take responsibility for any behavioral traits and practices that may explain the "bad luck."
