Do I need to contact my Bishop? Angie Wednesday, November 23, 2011

Question:

Hello,

My 11 year old son began to have intrusive thoughts about selling his soul to the devil in May 2011. On the 2nd week of August I took him to the emergency room because he had a panic attack. They said he had autism, a neurological disorder. I took him to a psychiatrist and prescribed him medication. The first medication made him feel psychotic. Two weeks later he was given a different one. It also make him feel psychotic. About two weeks later they gave him another one and he wanted to jump out of my car while I was driving. About another two weeks they gave him another and he was about to faint at school. He has not taken any medication more than two days. He's not taking any medication.

Our house was blessed by our priest. There was something in our home. My priest showed me a holy petal and I felt movement in my heart. He asked me to confess everything since I was little. I confessed four times because I kept forgetting sins. I need to mention that I have been going to mass everyday and I have been receiving the Eurcharist. I have also been praying the rosary and the chaplet with my church. My son also confesses.

He sent me to a healing retreat. Before the retreat I saw a healing priest. He told us in short to confess, forgive, and be active in our church. He is a very kind person. I went to the retreat and I still feel something residing inside of me. It feels like a worm inside my heart. My pupils don't seem normal either. I left a message to a priest who performs exorcisms in another state and he left a message saying to speak to my Bishop. Whenever, he called my cell phone would not ring. This was before my retreat.

I would like to know what to do next. I will continue to pray and attend mass everyday, but should I contact my Bishop since I'm feeling that something is residing in me. My son's fears are going down without medication. Thank you so much for your time.

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OMSM(r)

Dear Angie:

I am sorry you and your son are experiencing this. From your description it sounds like at least some of this is spiritually caused.

I would contact your bishop and see what he says. If he decides not to help you, then we may be able to help by doing deliverance (we cannot do solemn exorcisms).

We also have a more intensive House Cleansing and Blessing (PDF file) in our Spiritual Warfare Catalog linked below. It would be great if your priest used this blessing form. If not, you can do it yourself, or we can lead the blessing ritual over the phone.

Remember that God loves you and will not allow anything to come into your life that you cannot handle. That is his promise and God keeps his promises — he never lies:

(1 Cor 10:13)  No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, that you may be able to endure it.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
