Question: what do you think about Fra. Ellia? |

Question Answered by
Dear Hendra: One must be very cautious about mystics and visionaries, especially those not formally recognized by the Church. I personally have little interest in people like Fra’ Elia. Such people have little importance for the Faith. We should be studying the Bible and Church documents more than running around finding celebrity, the next mystic, or the newest visionary. All I can find on Fra’ Elia is that he is a consecrated lay brother and founded a new congregation called the ‘Apostles of God’. He is under observation by the Church and his Bishop, Mgr Vincenzo Paglia, Bishop of Terni, who has given him approval to go and speak wherever he is invited. That information comes from a flyer. I have not been able to independently verify that Bishop Paglia has given him permission to attend speaking engagements, but it appears that the Bishop has given permission. This does not mean that the Church has approved him yet. God Bless, For information on how to receive help see our Help page.
