Question Title Posted By Question Date
gift received from a satanist Carroll Saturday, September 25, 2004

Question:

I received a gift years ago from someone who I just found out was a satanist and was at that time. I want to know what is the proper (safest way) to dispose of it.

This person is my son's ex wife. She and her family are very strange people but I had no idea why. My son told my sister about the satanism who then told me (today).

The gift is a glass dish for popourri which I gave kept displayed in my home for many years. My son told my sister that his then wife went into some kind of satanic trance and all he could think to do was to keep calling to God over and over. While he was doing that his wife fainted. She subsequently divorced him. (They had not been married in the Church.)

This has been over 10 years and I had no idea, I am still shocked. But I want that dish out of my house.

Dear Carroll:

To dispose of an object you suspect may have an demonic infestation or a curse attached or the like, do the following:

1) Bless the object with Holy Water

2) Destroy the object so that it no longer resembles what it was. If burnable, then burn it, if glass is break it up into pieces, if some other material, take it apart or damage it as best you can.

3) Bury the remains of this item in the ground, sprinkling it will Holy Water once more before filling in the hole. If you want you could even place a St. Benedict medal in the hole with the remains of the item.

4) Forget about it, it is gone along with anything nasty that was attached.

Keep in mind that this procedure is not magick. The primary power of the sacramentals (holy water and the medal) is in your faith. The sacraments do have a secondary effect in that they are items that have been blessed and made holy by God. Demons do not like being around such things.

Destroying the item so that it no longer resembles what it once was removes the attachment that it had for the demons, or the curse, or whatever.

Even with blessed items like a Rosary, once the Rosary falls apart or is taken apart and no longer resembles a rosary, the blessing that was attached to the Rosary is no longer there.

Bury it in the ground as the earth has this symbolizes a cleansing from the good earth.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
