Padre Pio Deliverance Center:

Hello, team. I was wondering does SPCDC have a directory or know of such which would contain a list of meetings/ groups throughout the US for people who are spiritually-afflicted? This would be similar to the A.A. groups that are available throughout the US.

I for one know that if I could go to a group of others like myself who are in the middle of a diabolical affliction, it would make this nightmare so much more bearable. For at these meetings, we can offer up prayer suggestions or sacramental suggestions (like wearing St. Anthony’s Brief) to one another or share ideas. Someone in the group may be doing a devotional that another group attendee adopts leading to his deliverance, etc. Fr. Gabriele Amorth, the Vatican Exorcist, says that these beast-freaks attack in the same ways in every part of the world; therefore, we need to find a way to galvanize on similar solutions to battle this; one way to do this is to share/ exchange ideas at these spiritually-afflicted meetings. I know it is ultimately in God’s hands when each person afflicted is freed, but sometimes, He allows us to start organizations or stumble on the answers ourselves which He may plant.

Also, does the SPCDC in Iowa have weekly meetings for locals there that are spiritually-afflicted? There is a gentleman on here (named ‘Bob’ or ‘rgravlz’), that posted on this site’s blog/ café of meetings for those spiritually-afflicted in St. Louis, MO area.

Therefore, I wanted to know if other meetings/ groups like this exist in other parts of the US and where to find them. Thank you. God bless and Hail Mary, full of grace! +

Respectfully,

BPM

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OMSM(r)

Dear Bryan:

No, I am sorry, but such AA-type groups for those suffering from demonic attack do not exist to my knowledge. As far as I know the group in St. Louis is not that kind of group, but rather a prayer group helping those harassed by demons.

The Spiritual Warfare Discussion group you linked was co-opted into the Chew the Rage Cafe Discussion group which may be closing.  Since I think you have a good idea, I can open it up again as a sort of support group rather than a mere discussion group.

As for deliverance prayer groups around the country there are only two or three that I know about that have their head on straight. Such groups tend to be charismatic with all the problems and excesses that the Charismatic Renewal tends to bring with it. As Bob mentioned about the group in St. Louis, it took time before that group settled down to a more reasonable approach.

We do run a support group for those with sexual addictions that works well as an online AA-type support group. We can certainly see about opening a support group for those with spiritual afflictions. Such a support group will not offer Deliverance Counseling as that cannot be done in a group setting, but it can be a place to ask and discuss general questions, share ideas, and offer support to each other.

In doing an online AA-type support group for those spiritually afflicted we can do more than offer an online discussion-group setting, but we can include a live chatroom, and even conference-call telephone meetings if there are people interested in that. Modern technology offers us so many opportunities to get help and support. Thus, no one needs to feel alone or isolated because there are no local groups to attend.

We will announce the opening of this Spiritual Warfare Support Group as soon as it is ready.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
